Friday 27th January 2012 - Update @ 07:40:- Generally clear skies across the forecast region this morning which could allow some icy strectches on roads and pavements. Sunny spells through the early part of the morning but cloud will develop through the morning and some showers likely to break out across the region from mid morning into the afternoon. Temperatures rising slowly during the day to peak at 5°C(41°F) or 6°C(43°F). Winds, perhaps moderate at times - gusts up to 15mph - and generally from the WSW/SW.
Outlook:-Saturday sees a similar day to Friday but probably any showers few and far between. - Further Outlook For Next Week: - As I have alluded to in my advisory banner, there is still high potential for a cold spell heading for the UK into next week. Pressure looks set to build to our east and this causes a feed of increasingly cold air towards and across the UK, with the potential of bands of snow being introduced into that cold feed and affecting the east of the UK. Updates as and when more definitive data becomes available.
